Shenandoah National Park: Road on the Ridge. We drive along Skyline Drive, which rides on top of the ridge that is the northern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway, extending south to North Carolina. But – Blue Ridge Mountains, be it Great Smoky or Shenandoah or the Parkway in between are all very beautiful (especially in the fall!). Day 1: Drive from Washington D.C. to Shenandoah National Park and continuing to Blue Ridge Parkway. Day 2: Continuing Blue Ridge Parkway to Biltmore Estate or Ashville, NC. Day 3: Continuing the drive and finish the drive in Atlanta, Georgia. Any suggestions for the stays in the mountains with reasonable budget? Thank you.
